---------- press quotes ----------

"Trio music of great passion and weight. This music truly has some of the power and danger of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus and John Coltrane." Ben Watson YORKSHIRE POST

"Tersely confrontational, Hession an explosive, sometimes demented percussionist, Wharf working through arid, bleak registers of his chosen horns or tearing across structural boundaries." THE PENGUIN GUIDE TO JAZZ ON CD, LP & CASSETTE

"Powerful, committed and expressive free jazz" AVANT

about

Hession / Wharf / Fell

Charles Wharf (reeds), Simon H. Fell (double bass) and Paul Hession (drumset) have been playing improvised music together since 1988. Between 1988 and 1991, they played together a lot - then moved on to other things for a while. In 2000 they got back together again, and picked up a few threads.
